The wild Mutation as a Rock'n Roll Star

Hi everybody, after a meditation period I decided to change the way I intend my blog to be.
Rock music of the '70s, yet being my favourite, is far too few to express my overall likes (and subsequently my dislikes). I simply love music, when it is good music and this is what I will propose from now on, regardless of year, style and genre.......

Blues for Gary

(Robert William) Gary Moore (R.I.P. - February 2011), is a very popular North-Irish singer and musician, whose career has always been recognised by both public and critics just as well when he went solo or when he was a member of Thin Lizzy and Skid Row. Moore started with a powerful hard rock sound, which became gradually softer turning into a rather bluesy rock.
Here is a live performance at the "Old Grey Whistle Test" together with Phil Lynnot, a very good sample of his sound of the seventies.

Gary Moore - Back on the Streets (Back on the Streets, 1978)

Royal Mail II

The Queen, here she comes again..... This is a superlative live performance of a song they did not perform on stage for a long time: right after its publication and the following year as far as I am concerned. Please enjoy this great, rare number.

Queen - White Man (A Day at the Races, 1976)

NYC to LA

William Martin Joel, worldwide known as Billy Joel is an American (New Yorker) pianist, singer and composer who had a huge commercial success all over the world during his entire career. At present he has not published new studio material for 20 years, but he keeps on touring and his live performances are always highly demanded. As usual, I propose here one "little knonw" track

Billy Joel - Los Angelenos (Streetlife Serenade, 1974)

Rock Child of mine

Deep Purple have always been considered pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal, although it is not that easy to categorise the band in one genre. They are among the most successful and recognised band of rock and were a great influence to bands born in the '70s and '80s. Here is a great sample of their creativity.

Deep Purple - Child in Time (Deep Purple in Rock, 1970)

Reginald in Wonderland

Elton John, maybe not the first artist you think about when you talk about rock music..... but I can tell you that he really rocks :-D. OK, I will not spend a lot of words about him, just enjoy this song that I have chosen among his less known numbers. Here is a live performance with Nigel Olsson on drums and Davey Johnstone on guitar

Elton John - All the Young Girls love Alice

Rock is a Battlefield

Pat Benatar, born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski, is an American pop rock singer who had a huge comemrcial success in the US in the '80s and early '90s. In Europe her peak of popularity was between 1983 and 1991. She published her last album in 2003 ("GO"), which have had very por sales so far (about 34,000 copies). However, she still has a great number of followers and her live performances are highly demanded. The track I propose here is a live performance dated 1982

Pat Benatar - In the heat of the Night (In the Heat of the Night, 1979)
